Cub Pack (ages 8 to 10½)

We currently meet every other Wednesday evening in the Trinity School Room on Short Bridge Street between 6 and 7.30pm. Jacinta is running Cubs single-handed and we are appealing for any extra help that you as parents or just members of the community may be able to offer. If you can make a regular comitment and volunteer to become Assistant Leader then Cubs may be able to go back to weekly meetings, which would obviously be brilliant. Please get in touch!

The Cubs pack engages in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities, such as going hiking, playing games, going kayaking, learning about the world around us both culturally and naturally, creating arts and crafts, doing community work, gaining skills such as bicycle maintenance and fire lighting or just toasting marshmallows over a campfire. The emphasis is always on having fun while doing your best, and being safe while trying new things.

The Cubs are always working towards new badges, and activities are generally based around badge work. Badges gained recently include Astronomy, International Event, Reading, Artist, Outdoor Challenge, Community Challenge, Cycling and Map Reading.

Cub meetings for the Spring term 2016 are:

  • Weds 13th Jan
  • Weds 27th Jan
  • Weds 10th Feb
  • Weds 24th Feb
  • Weds 9th Mar

COMING UP... On June 11th 2016 we're looking forward to the All-Wales Cubs Fun Day. This year is the centenary of the foundation of the Cubs section of Scouts, so the fun will be spiced up by the extra celebrations of this once-in-a-hundred-years event!
