Scout Troop (ages 10½ to 14)

Who, Where, When & What?

Llanidloes Scout Troop is open to young people aged between 10½ and 14. We meet on Monday evenings 7 to 9pm in the Trinity Chapel schoolroom on Short Bridge Street.

We try to be outdoors as often as possible. We make use of the Both Coed community woodland for wide games and oudoor skills such as shelter-building, orienteering, tracking and generally having fun. We have the use of private land where we learn to make traditional campfires, complete with stories, songs and maybe even the occasional toasted marshmallow. We learn the safe use of knives, fire and axes and earn badges for a huge variety of things, from first-aid to helping the local community, to entertaining a crowd or navigating by the stars. The emphasis of all we do is on teamwork, and it's a lot of fun! All are welcome.

Further Afield

We belong to a wider community of Montgomeryshire Scouts. We get together with other nearby Scout troops throughout the year for hikes, camps and the highlight of the year: Operation Commando.

Spring 2016 Term

We break for half-term 15th-19th February. Last session of term week ending 25th March.
